As an entirely self-taught artist, I’ve chosen photography as my creative medium for many reasons.
Photography offers the viewer the opportunity to see objects and people through the eyes of another. In my abstract work, I take subjects out of context, and by changing their color and/or perspective, I hope to bring the viewer’s eye to the sensuality and complex rhythms of an ordinary object.
When I photograph individuals, it is the unguarded moment that I search for, to show their vulnerability and strength. While the resulting photographs might seem disparate, they can be strikingly similar.
