Judy began her artistic career as an illustrator, first in San Francisco and then New York City. Working primarily in watercolor, she won many awards and had her work collected in compendiums of fine book illustration. For five years in the late 1990's Judy lived in Brussels, Belgium where she studied oil painting and the Flemish Old Masters' techniques at Atelier Truffino. Returning to New York City, she continued working in oils and began to experiment with stained glass, mosaics, resin and concrete. Today her oil paintings are often surrounded by handmade frames of fusion glass, a combination of tempered glass, resin, painting and collage.

Often grouping her work into a unifying series, she has put together thematic installations dealing with: Oversized Botanicals (San Francisco), Female Fetishes, Food as Architecture (New York), Moonlighting Artists (New York) and Fusion Paintings (Hamptons). With her studio now located in Water Mill, NY she is adding landscape and garden paintings to her repertory and her first show at New Century Artists will be Trees: Branches,Bark and Leaves.
