NEW MEMBERS
NCA is always seeking new members.
If you know any artists that may be interested in joining the gallery, please have them send the gallery an e-mail. They can also download the membership forms on our web site.

HOLOCAUST EXHIBITION
The Reflections on the Holocaust: Works by Holocaust Survivors, Family Members, and Friends exhibition has traveled to three different locations. We are still seeking new venues to travel the show. If you have any suggestions or leads it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the gallery.

WEB SITE
Sawaka Nagae has recently updated the NCA web site. We are very grateful for all the time and effort she has graciously contributed to improve the site. New members and renewing members may post their bios and 3 or 4 images on the web site. Renewing members may update images once a year at renewal time. Please send this information to John Graham at johngraham@optonline.net

RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP
For members renewing in June
In June, it will be time for many of you to renew your membership
. Annual membership is good for a year.  A number of members let their membership lapse and then rejoin several months later.  The gallery loses money when each member does not rejoin when its time to renew.  Renewal notices will be sent in May.  We ask all our members to renew on time.  From now on whether or not you renew in a timely fashion, your membership will be processed from the first date you joined.  We rely on our membership fees.  If you have lost your job or having a difficult time with money other arrangements are possible, but your membership will still be honored from the first date you joined.

VOLUNTEER GALLERY SERVICE
12-hour time commitment
For those of you that have not put in your 12-hour time commitment to the gallery for the year there are still opportunities. We need volunteers to help organize the closet. If you have ideas on how you can help make NCA a better place please send an e-mail. A member meeting will be held at the gallery on Friday, September 15 at 6:00 pm to discuss this and other gallery related matters.

COMMITMENT TO THE GALLERY
NCA has been in business for ten years.
We consider this a professional business and expect all our members to treat it that way. If you commit to sitting you should be at the gallery from 11 to 6. Please be on time and do not leave early. If you leave for a few minutes for a break please put a notice on the door. Do not leave for more than 15 minutes at one time. Inform the gallery next door that you will be right back in case any gallery goers want to see our exhibit. We do get people coming from out-of-town to see our exhibitions. It is not fair to them if they have traveled a long distance and the gallery is not open.

At least 24 hours notice is required to cancel your sitting commitment. Do not leave it to that morning, because we need time to get a replacement.

If you commit to exhibiting your work for a particular exhibition the gallery requires at least one-month cancellation notice prior to the exhibition. Sometimes artists do not answer e-mails and then tell me a week or two ahead of time that they cannot participate in an upcoming exhibit. This is not fair to the other artists that might have wanted to participate in the exhibit. Please be considerate of your fellow artists and the gallery director.

If someone approaches you concerning a sale please take the person’s name, phone number, and e-mail address for the artist. This information is crucial for follow-up.

GOOD NEWS
Marlborough Gallery is one of the galleries that will be moving into the Art Tower Spring 2007. It was hard to imagine in 2001 when we moved on the block that 25th Street would become so popular. We are certain this will translate into more traffic and more sales. Be a part of this expansion.

IDEAS AND INPUT
NCA needs your ideas and input. We need fundraisers, creative thinkers, hard-workers, talented, dedicated and committed artists. This is your gallery. If we want to continue to grow and expand in the future we need you.

THANK YOU
I would like to thank all my board members and gallery members who have made the past year a tremendous success. We now have close to 50 members. Let’s make it 60 next year.
